My Wife Is a Superhero

-My Wife Is a Super Hero-

Noel, I just want you to know that you are a REAL LIFE SUPERHERO!!!

Every morning you wake up sad, alone, and afraid. But you still find a way to homeschool our four beautiful children, consistently communicate with your incarcerated husband (me), and work multiple jobs to provide for our family.

Noel, that is true bravery.

Yes, you have down days. But you ALWAYS find a way to stand back up.

I'm honored to be your husband, and I am so, so, so proud of you.

I'm always astonished at your tenacity and perseverance. Most of all, I admire how you always bring every breakthrough back to God. Your faith in Jesus is contagious. Noel, you make me a better person, husband, father, and follower of Christ.

THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!!!

I have no doubt I'm the most blessed husband in federal prison.

Your love and support are like oxygen to me here.

I promise to continue using my time in prison productively so our family can have a bright future upon my release.

Noel, you are my inspiration to push through the hard and dark days in prison. With you by my side, I feel like anything is possible.

I love you with all my heart, my Wonderful Wife.

WE GOT THIS!!!

Love,
Brett

P.S. You are also SUPER HOT!!! Gosh, I'm a very lucky man.

-Note from Noél-

I love this picture of Brett and me. We took it shortly after coming back to California from Texas, and even though we were still so unclear about what we were about to face, we knew we could handle almost anything—because by that point, it felt like we had already lived through 80 different lives together. Through it all, we’ve always had each other.

One of the scariest parts of Brett not physically being here is how paralyzing it felt at first. I remember thinking, How am I going to do all this? How am I going to raise four children and take on life without him by my side?

The morning Brett left, I felt a pain like I’d never felt before—and it lasted for weeks. I remember pleading with God to take the pain because I couldn’t live like that. And He did. But when I look at this picture and see that smile, I can also see a light that has dimmed since he’s been gone. I truly don’t think I’ll feel whole again until Brett is back home with me. It’s hard to explain, but he’s my person—my best friend—and we are one. It just makes sense that I’d feel like a piece of me is missing.

Brett and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary in August. He was already in prison by then, but I truly believe that what we’ve overcome in these past eight months is nothing short of a miracle. Our marriage has withstood so many things—so many tests—and now it continues to withstand prison and the distance between us. I’m so proud of how hard we’ve fought and continue to fight for each other, for our marriage, and for our family.

We will continue to defy all odds and statistics and help others see that through God, all things are possible. We wouldn’t be where we are today without our faith, and we will cling to that just as we always have—trusting that God’s plan is so much greater than anything we can see. I am so beyond blessed and grateful to be this man’s wife. I’m so proud of you, Brett—so, so proud! I promise I will never stop fighting for you.

If you could say an extra prayer for our family, I would be so grateful. I believe the enemy is hard at work right now because we are so close to breakthrough—as God continues to show up and move in every inch of our story.

We had a pretty big scare Wednesday night and woke up to a severe gas leak while we were sleeping. My mom (who thankfully came to help on Thursday) woke me up yelling, “It smells like gas—we need to get out of the house!” So many things could have happened that night or even the next morning, but I have no doubt God was watching over us.

We’ve been dealing with our landlords, city inspectors, and contractors trying to make our home “up to code” for the last six months, and when this happened, it just about did me in. I know God has a plan, but I also know the enemy keeps trying to take us down. These are the hard days/weeks—the ones that make it so difficult not having Brett here to navigate it all with me.

I’m so incredibly grateful for this community—for you. I would probably still be on the floor if I didn’t have the people around me who have come beside me and lifted me up. Brett and I will forever be grateful for each and every one of you.

So if you could just pray for God’s continued covering over our family, and strength for Brett and me to keep pushing and fighting for the calling that’s been placed on our lives, we would be so grateful. We are fully surrendering everything to God in this season and accepting the calling we feel so strongly He has placed on us — bringing light to the dark prison world. We are ready, and we know that with Him,

WE GOT THIS!

Love and Blessings,

Noél

Shatter Your Shame- Sneak Peek

Shatter Your Shame, Chapter 1

Shatter Your Shame, Chapter 2

Shatter Your Shame, Chapter 3

Shatter Your Shame is NOW AVAILABLE

Brett and I are so excited (and honestly still a little in awe) to officially announce

Shatter Your Shame is LIVE on the site.

This book was written inside a federal prison—on random pieces of scratch paper, with a dull pencil, behind razor-sharp barbed wire and an electrified fence. What started as handwritten prison letters has turned into a powerful testimony of redemption, responsibility, faith, and purpose.

Shatter Your Shame is for anyone who carries the weight of their past, the burden of regret, or the quiet pain of shame—and is ready to see how God redeems what the world calls broken.

Brett writes with raw honesty about the worst decisions of his life, the consequences that followed, and the miraculous way God met him in the pit of prison and transformed his shame into purpose. These are one-of-a-kind prison stories that will help you heal, rise, and walk forward unchained.

(Perfect for small groups, book clubs, churches, or gifting to someone who needs hope.)

Every order directly supports me and my 4 beautiful children during this season Brett is away.

This journey hasn’t been easy. Prison is heavy. Shame is heavy. But God is proving—once again—that He specializes in turning massive messes into healing miracles.

Thank you for believing in redemption.
Thank you for supporting our family.
Thank you for helping us share this message with the world.

With so much love,
Noél
