TUG

Ok... before you read Brett's newest letter, I wanted to show off a few beautiful lash and brow transformations that have absolutely made my week. 💛

One of the things I love most about this little business is that it isn't really about lashes or brows.
It's about helping someone feel a little lighter.
A little more confident.
A little more like themselves again.
Sometimes all it takes is one small act of self-care to remind a woman that she is still beautiful, still worthy, and still allowed to smile when she looks in the mirror.
Honestly...
I think that's why Brett's newest letter touched my heart so deeply.
Because it's all about helping someone move forward again.
Over the last several months, this little lash and brow business has become one of God's sweetest provisions for our family.
Every appointment, every referral, every share, and every encouraging message helps me provide for Cambria, Willow, Lula, and Zion while Brett serves his sentence.
I'm working incredibly hard to continue building my clientele, and I truly couldn't do it without all of you.
If you (or someone you know) has been thinking about a Korean Lash Lift, Lash Tint, Brow Lamination, or Brow Tint, I would absolutely LOVE to serve you.
And the best part?
✨ I come to you! ✨
No driving.
No sitting in a salon.
Just a little time set aside for yourself in the comfort of your own home.
📱 Text me at 714-210-9014 if you'd like pricing, availability, or have any questions.
And if you're not local, one of the greatest ways you can support our family is simply by sharing my name with someone who is. Every referral means more than you'll ever know.
Alright...
Enough about lashes and brows. 😊
Go meet The Fantastic Mr. Finn again and discover why one little four-letter command completely melted my heart.
Sometimes the simplest act of love can completely change someone's world.
I have a feeling this one is going to "TUG" on your heart too. 🥹💛
LOVE ALWAYS WINS.
TUG
Compound Loudspeaker: "10 minute move... 10 minute move on the compound."
Me: "Let's go buddy."
Finn: Wiggles his booty in absolute anticipation and excitement as he walks side by side with me toward the puppy potty yard.
The Fantastic Mr. Finn and I delight in starting our days behind bars before the sun even has a chance to rise.
There is something sacred about those early morning moments together.
The prison compound is unusually quiet.
The cool morning air fills our lungs.
The rest of the institution is still slowly waking up.
And for a few precious minutes, it feels like it's just me and my furry best friend taking on the world together.
We do our very best to savor every second of it.
Once The Finn Man has finished taking care of his "business" in the puppy potty yard, we speed walk straight into an empty, dimly lit training room to perfect what our instructors call...
"The Service Dog Skill of the Week."
This week's skill is...
TUG.
And honestly...
I don't think Finn has ever loved learning a command more than this one.
"TUG" is a life-changing skill for my future superhero service dog to master because someday his forever person may be navigating life while being bound to a wheelchair.
Finn's mastery of "TUG" will bring a fresh pulse of HOPE & FREEDOM back into that person's heart.
Think about that for a second...
A command as simple as "TUG" has the power to reconnect someone to the life they thought they had lost forever.
"TUG" isn't just about pulling a wheelchair.
It's about pulling a hurting heart back toward possibility.
It's about tugging someone back into dreaming BIG DREAMS after life convinced them those dreams were over.
It's about reminding one of God's cherished children that there is still an incredible adventure waiting to be lived.
The terrain that once whispered...
"You can't go there anymore..."
will suddenly become accessible again.
Not because the world changed...
But because a furry superhero with big floppy black ears decided to help carry the burden.
If Finn's forever person wants to soak in warm sun kisses while watching the waves crash onto the shoreline...
Finn Man will gladly "TUG" her wheelchair across every single grain of sand.
If his forever person wants to spread out a blanket and enjoy a perfectly planned picnic surrounded by family and lifelong friends...
Mr. Finn will proudly "TUG" him across every blade of green grass without hesitation.
If adventure calls and the family decides it's finally time to go camping...
The Fantastic Mr. Finn won't think twice about "TUGGING" his favorite person through mud, loose gravel, rocky trails, and uneven terrain.
Where most people see obstacles...
Finn sees opportunities to serve.
"TUG" is a holy opportunity for Finn to express his unconditional LOVE for the person he was created to serve.
Back inside our prison puppy training room, Finn tirelessly practices his "TUG" by pulling heavy wooden crates, rusty wheelchairs, metal doors, and just about any random object I can tie a rope to.
This future superhero service dog is an absolute workhorse.
Every single repetition has purpose.
Every single pull is preparing him for someone's future miracle.
I can already envision The Fantastic Mr. Finn standing tall with that proud smile of his after successfully "TUGGING" his forever person across terrain they once believed would forever remain impossible.
The Fantastic Mr. Finn has taught me what it REALLY looks like to live life with a servant's heart.
He never asks...
"What's in it for me?"
He simply asks...
"Who can I help today?"
Finn doesn't see wheelchairs.
He doesn't see disabilities.
He doesn't see limitations.
He sees people.
He sees hurting hearts.
He sees opportunities to LOVE.
And honestly...
I hope when people look back on my own life someday, they don't remember my prison sentence.
I hope they remember that I spent my life trying to "TUG" people back toward hope...
back toward healing...
back toward purpose...
and ultimately...
back toward Jesus.
Right now...
somewhere out there...
there is a person desperately praying for a miracle.
A husband.
A wife.
A mother.
A father.
A child.
Someone who feels trapped by circumstances completely outside of their control.
Someone who believes the adventures they once dreamed about are now nothing more than distant memories.
And they have absolutely no idea...
that their miracle has four paws...
big floppy black ears...
and a heart overflowing with unconditional LOVE.
Finn, my dear friend...
those painful prayers soaked in sorrow are about to be answered.
Someday very soon, you're going to "TUG" your forever person into TRUE FREEDOM.
You're going to reconnect them with adventures they thought were gone forever.
You're going to help them dream BIG dreams again.
You're going to remind them that hope still exists.
Love you, buddy...
and believe in you more than you will ever know.
Thank you for being a living, breathing testimony that:
LOVE... ALWAYS... WINS
Sincerely,
Brett
(A convicted criminal whose own heart was gently "TUGGED" back toward hope by The Fantastic Mr. Finn.)
A Note From Noél
Ugghh...
This letter makes me miss Brett so much.
One of the things I love most about my husband is his one-of-a-kind ability to gently nudge a person—or in this case, a pup—toward the greatness God placed inside them all along.
If you've been following Finn's journey with us, you may remember that this sweet doggo didn't exactly start out as the "star student."
In fact...
The Fantastic Mr. Finn was once considered "The Underdog" of his service dog class.
He was the pup that many thought was least likely to successfully complete the challenging eight-month prison service dog training program.
He had too much energy.
Too much excitement.
Too much enthusiasm.
Some people saw those things as weaknesses.
BUT...
Our GREAT & MERCIFUL God already knew exactly who He had created Finn to become.
Now...
that same endless energy that once seemed like his biggest obstacle has become one of his greatest strengths.
The very thing people questioned is now the very thing allowing Finn to TUG someone across sand, grass, mud, gravel, and terrain that once seemed impossible to navigate.
I absolutely LOVE that.
Because isn't that exactly how God works?
He has this incredible way of redeeming the very things we thought would disqualify us.
He takes our greatest weaknesses...
our deepest wounds...
our hardest seasons...
and somehow weaves them into our greatest strengths.
I've watched Him do it in Brett.
I've watched Him do it in so many of Brett's barbed wire brothers.
And now...
I'm watching Him do it through a dog with big floppy black ears.
Every prison story Brett shares continues to deepen my understanding of just how expansive God's unconditional love truly is.
Our Heavenly Father doesn't merely tolerate His children.
He delights in them.
He delights in watching us discover the treasure trove of strength, purpose, and greatness He lovingly placed inside us from the very beginning.
Finn, my dear friend...
thank you for reminding all of us that the impossible really can become possible.
Thank you for serving with such humility.
Thank you for loving so selflessly.
And thank you for showing us what a true servant's heart looks like.
Someday soon, Finn Man...
you'll walk into your forever person's life and do so much more than simply TUG a wheelchair.
You'll tug a hurting heart back toward hope.
You'll tug a family back toward adventure.
You'll tug someone back toward believing that life is still beautiful.
And I have a feeling...
you'll tug them a little closer to Jesus too.
Cambria, Willow, Lula, Zion, and I are beyond honored to be part of your incredible superhero service dog story.
We'll always be your biggest fans...
cheering you forward every step of the way.
Go get 'em, Finn Boy.
WE BELIEVE IN YOU!!!
Thank you for being a living, breathing testimony that:
LOVE... ALWAYS... WINS!!!
With so much LOVE,
Noél

What a precious story! Having worked in the dog training, business many years! There is a reason why dog spelt backwards is God. Unconditional love 24 seven, faithful, loyal servants. God took Mr. Finn‘s energy and he used it for good. How great is our God who cares about every detail of our lives. He has a purpose and a plan for everyone and everything. His timing is perfect. Grateful for this program, everyone wins!!! Thank you for sharing.
